My Process
Before Your Session
Preparation is key to an exceptional photography experience. The process begins with a detailed questionnaire covering all of our bases before your brand or portrait shoot. Next, I’ll send you a link to our wardrobe styling service and will help assist with color and outfit selection. I have a variety of wood, white brick, replica countertop surfaces and textured backgrounds in my natural light studio, as well as a variety of props and accessories to use. If you're interested in an outdoor session, I have my go-to outdoor locations for all the best lighting and backdrops.
During Your Session
Hooray, it’s picture day! Upon arrival, we will go through our must-have shot list, talk through props and styling, and finalize a plan of attack for the day. Let me focus on the details; I may have an assistant with me the day of our shoot, and I will personally give you direction for posing throughout the session. Get ready to feel pampered and have some fun!
After Your Portrait Session
You’ll receive an initial gallery of your jaw-dropping photos within three weeks. Then, we’ll meet for an Order Appointment (either virtual or in-person) so I can help you select your favorite images and choose the perfect products like prints, albums and wall art to show them off. All of my printing is done in-house to guarantee color and quality, and the rest of my wall art product line has been thoughtfully outsourced to professional-grade print labs.

FAQs
I charge a sitting fee for all portrait photography sessions. This fee pays for the service of taking your photos, and does not include any images (digital or physical).
I’ll invite you to join me at the studio for a final ordering appointment after your full gallery has been edited. This appointment can be scheduled any time within 30 days after receiving your gallery, and is the only time to place print and product orders, so if you have any family members also interested in making purchases, please make sure they join you. I have designed my all-inclusive product collections and a la carte products to include digital files, yes! The digital files are printable up to a 8”x10”. Digital files are not included with the sitting fee.
Choosing the right location for your session is essential. Are you a city person, or a country person? Do you love the outdoors, or prefer to be inside? That’s why I include the use of my photography studio or travel to any location within 20 miles of Fulda, MN in all of my collections. If you’re interested in a session outside of that area, my travel rate is $0.60 per mile.
I keep a close eye on the forecast and if the weather isn't ideal, we will reschedule. I prefer to have nice shooting conditions over a mediocre experience, so I will be in contact with you in the days leading up to your session to finalize details.
All collections require a non-refundable retainer upfront to book your date on my calendar. For portrait sessions, this is the sitting fee.
After booking your session, you’ll receive an email with access to my wardrobe styling service and client closet. I recommend sending photos of your wardrobe two or three weeks before your session so I can offer feedback and help you finalize everything. Please feel free to send outfit ideas or questions any time before your session — I am happy to help!
